Technician in Training programme

When you join us a technical intern, you'll learn from and be supported by some of our top experts, so you can get extensive real-world experience on your way to qualifying.

About the programme

As a Technician in Training, you can choose from a wide variety of programmes with Sappi. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Production

  • Kraft linerboard
  • Groundwood
  • Digesters
  • Bleaching
  • Chemical recovery, and

When you join a technical training programme, we'll make sure you're fully supported. You'll receive extensive coaching from your own mentor for the duration of the course, as well as on-the-job and formal classroom training. This will help prepare you for biannual performance assessments in conjunction with your line manager.

As part of the programme, you'll also need to complete a log book of all development activities to ensure all learning opportunities are taken full advantage of. If required, you'll also get assistance with any necessary licensing.

Employment contracts typically last between 12 and 18 months depending on the nature of the role and Sappi's business requirements.
