Reusing pigments of coating colour waste - Stockstadt Mill

Yes, I care.

Because clean water is the most important thing there is.

It caught my attention that the wastewater streams at the coated line in Stockstadt were all treated in the same way, despite containing different loads and amounts of waste.

After analysing the different wastewater streams, I decided to try and separate the streams containing coating from the coating machine. It worked! As a result, pigments of coating colour waste are now reused in the paper production. Since the start of this project, coating colour waste has decreased by more than 85%. Only 41 trucks have been used to transport the remaining waste, compared to the 325 that were previously required.

I make Sappi eco-effective. How about you?
