Sappi Fine Paper Europe has today launched its second call for entries for the Sappi European Printers of the Year Awards 2012.
The SEPOTY Awards, first launched in 1993, were established by Sappi to reward and recognise excellence in print. The competition has evolved alongside the industry, by recognising innovation in the sector and adding new categories along the way, such as digital print and both sheet fed and web magazines.
The SEPOTY Awards encourage printers to find the best processes, find the best papers and find the best combination of experience and graphic materials to achieve the best results for their customers. Recognising printers who give their utmost and set new standards in print excellence, the contest is open to any printer from Europe and the Middle East who has his or her work commercially printed on mainly Sappi paper.
Every two years, this unique event, which benefits from extensive press coverage, as well as Sappi promotions and the prestige of being a Sappi Printer of the Year, brings together the top creative minds and experts of the printing industry. Printers are already clamouring to submit entries for the 2012 awards.
Printers who have not yet submitted entries for the biennial competition should not worry: while the first round of entries ended on 31 March 2011, there are three more collection rounds, the next of which finishes on 30 June. Those who have already entered should also be aware that an entrant’s chances of being chosen for an award increase with subsequent submissions – and printers who have submitted at least one entry at each collection round but have not been selected will all receive a voucher for a Drupa entrance ticket in recognition of their efforts.
All printers with at least one entry nominated for an award will be invited to the event in May 2012, which will see prizes being given to entrants in the following categories: annual reports, books, brochures, calendars, catalogues, digital print, general print, magazines (sheetfed), magazines (web), packaging and labels and printer’s own promotion. For more information, please contact your local sales office.
Sappi is also proud to underline its commitment to bettering the planet and the lives of the people on it with its BlueGreen Award, celebrating the power of print in supporting meaningful causes, both creatively and in an environmentally friendly manner.
