Competition complaint against Sappi in Germany dismissed

Brussels, 30 January 2014

Sappi Fine Paper Europe has learned yesterday that the Bundeskartellamt (German Federal Cartel Office) will not pursue the complaint that PaperlinX Limited and its German subsidiary Deutsche Papier Vertriebs GmbH have brought against it on 4 December 2013.

The Bundeskartellamt decision comes as no surprise. Sappi Fine Paper Europe’s position has always been that its commercial practices in Germany and in any other country in which it operates are fully compliant with the applicable competition laws and that PaperlinX’s accusations are entirely unfounded.
