Sappi focuses on youth at career day for rural school

Leaving the safety of a school environment to make one’s own way in life can be a daunting experience for young people. As a new generation of youths prepare to leave school, following a particularly challenging time worsened by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sappi Forests reached out and extended support and advice to learners at the Mandadla High School near Bulwer in the KZN Midlands.

Sappi continues recovery in results for second financial quarter 2021

Commenting on the group’s results, Sappi Chief Executive Officer Steve Binnie said: “I am pleased with the steady recovery from the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. EBITDA continued to improve quarter-on-quarter from a low of US$26m in our third quarter of 2020 through US$98m in the previous quarter to US$112m for the current quarter, with further improvement expected for our third quarter.”
