Commenting on the group’s results, Sappi Chief Executive Officer Steve Binnie said: “Within the context of subdued underlying market conditions due to the challenging macroeconomic environment I am pleased that the group delivered EBITDA of US$183 million, which was 10% above the prior year.”

Gratkorn Mill
Sappi Europe is pleased to announce its completion of phase two of a three-phase modernisation project at Gratkorn Mill, Austria. The double-digit million-euro investment consolidates its strong position as a global coated fine paper producer.
Prices for Coated and Uncoated Fine papers were increased during January and February but not to the levels necessary to maintain a viable business.

Recycling lab
Recognising the importance of recyclability for the circular economy, Sappi has established a recyclability testing laboratory within its R&D Department.
