Lomati Sawmill

Lomati Sawmill, established in 1971, is a manufacturing plant that produces kiln dried Southern African pine lumber from sawlogs supplied by Sappi Forests.

The mill has the capacity to produce 86,000 m3 per annum of structural lumber for, amongst others, the building, furniture and packaging industries.

Since opening in 1971 the mill has undergone several expansions which include modernisation of the wet mill equipment with a 120% increase in capacity and modernisation of their kilns and finger joint plant to match the improved capacity.

Lomati Sawmill’s structural lumber for the building industry complies with South African national standards and carries the South African Bureau of Standard (SABS) mark of approval.
