Sappi Europe, a leading producer of high quality graphic papers, announces price increases across two key product groups, effective from 16 March 2026:
1. Mechanical Coated Reels: EUR 40 per tonne
2. Woodfree Coated Reels: EUR 50 per tonne
These adjustments follow a prolonged period of significant market pricing pressure, combined with structurally elevated cost levels across energy, transport, labour, chemicals, and fibre.
Despite extensive internal cost efficiency initiatives, the current cost–price imbalance continues to erode profitability and threaten long term supply viability.
As a strategic supplier to publishers, printers, and merchants Sappi Europe remains fully committed to providing stable, high quality supply in a consolidating market. These adjustments form the first step in restoring sustainable market pricing; further increases may be required should cost levels remain elevated and market pricing fail to recover.
These adjustments follow the company’s previous announcement regarding Woodfree Coated Sheets, in which Sappi Europe communicated the need to correct pricing after a long period of sharp market price declines and persistently elevated cost levels.
Customers will be contacted individually by Sappi Europe’s sales organisation to discuss implementation details.
