Stockstadt Mill
Our mill
At our location in Stockstadt, in one of the European industrial hubs close to Frankfurt, we produce coated and uncoated fine paper for sheet fed offset printing. As an integrated mill we have our own pulp production (chlorine free bleached beech sulfite pulp) as well as our own power plant. We have acquired the certifications needed to operate a large industrial facility. Furthermore, education is important to us. We offer a range of apprenticed professions.
The proximity to Aschaffenburg and Frankfurt makes for an ideal geographical position in central Germany and Europe with railroads, water- and highways close by.

Our environment
Environmental awareness has a long tradition in our mill. This is especially important because the mill is situated in the middle of Stockstadt, a town of approximately 8,000 inhabitants. Therefore, protection of the environment is an integral part of our corporate policy and anchored in all our processes. Our environmental management system is certified according to the highest international standards ISO 14001 as well as EMAS.
EMAS
We follow the standards and legal requirements for protection of the environment as documented in the eco-audit EMAS. We publish our environmental statement on a yearly basis including our goals, programs and essential environmental data.
We use renewable raw materials
The beech wood used for our pulp production is mainly sourced from local thinnings. For forest owners this is both an economic and environmentally friendly way to take care of their property.
Efficient water purification
All effluents are collected, partially reused or thoroughly removed in special effluent cleaning stages. By combining different procedures we are able to reach a high degree of total cleaning efficiency.
Part of our effluents are cleaned biologically without oxygen. During this process biogas is generated which, together with residual sludge, is used as CO2-neutral biomass in our own power plant to generate energy.
Reduced emissions to the air
We have also significantly reduced our SO2 emissions thanks to environmentally friendly fuels, systematic energy saving, and our two flue gas desulphurisation plants. We use the latest technologies for flue gas cleaning and dust removal to comply with strict legal requirements.
Economical use of energy
The energy required by our processes is generated and supplied largely by our own power plant. By optimising both energy production and heat conservation, we can meet the needs for steam and electricity in the most economical way.
