Ehingen Mill
Our mill
The integrated pulp and paper mill at Ehingen (Germany) produces a range of coated fine papers. Situated alongside the river Danube in Baden-Württemberg, the mill is ideally placed for both receiving its raw materials and supplying fine papers to the European markets.
The people at Ehingen Mill have built up the very highest standards of technology and process quality in this ultra-modern mill. Automated data systems complement individual responsibilities at the mill. Information networks, computerised ordering systems and process control ensure that paper quality and supply perfectly match customer needs.
The chlorine-free pulp plant uses Beech and Spruce wood which is peroxide bleached. This pulp is blended with purchased long fibre pulp to make up the feedstock for the papermaking line.
The paper machine, with associated off-line coating, sheeting and finishing equipment, makes coated papers in a complete range of sheets and reels for a wide variety of purposes.
With the pulp plant, one paper making line, an off-line coater and sheeting and finishing facilities at Sappi Ehingen, every step in manufacturing has been designed to allow mill autonomy, product flexibility and the highest standards of paper quality.
Efficiently managed stocks of reels and cut sheet are available for rapid delivery to regional merchants.

Our products
A range of coated sheets and reels in matt and silk finishes are produced at the mill. Quality coated papers are available in the grammage range 70-200g/m² and are mainly used for the printing of books, brochures, catalogues, leaflets and magazines.
Manufacturing flexibility at the mill is matched by Sappi's marketing focus which, ensures that the product range closely meet the needs of specifiers. This is proven by the introduction of the brand ‘
Tempo™’ - a product which revolutionised silk paper printing. Tempo™ Silk is a coated fine paper, which was invented by Sappi to offer printers increased productivity and faster job turnarounds.
