About Sappi Cracow CoPE
Our journey began with serving basic supply chain services and, over the years, we have evolved into a dynamic hub incorporating finance activities and supporting the global IT department. Today, our team consists of 165 skilled experts, delivering a broad range of operational and strategic services to Sappi mills, sales offices and division worldwide.

General Ledger & Reporting team
This team ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting for Sappi mills and sales offices across Europe. Team members play a critical role in maintaining and reconciling financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering clear financial statements. Their responsibilities include processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts and managing monthly, quarterly and yearly closings. By overseeing the general ledger, managing journal entries and ensuring timely reporting, they contribute to Sappi’s financial health and strategic objectives.
Controlling team
The Controlling team provides financial insights to support planning and decision-making. By analysing costs, budgets and overall financial performance, they help shape business strategies. Their daily tasks include preparing financial reports, monitoring results and supporting budget planning. By maintaining cost control, forecasting trends and conducting performance analysis, the team ensures transparency and efficiency in financial management, playing a key role in Sappi’s long-term success.
Treasury & Intercompany team
Managing liquidity, investments, and financial risk, this team ensures smooth financial operations. They oversee cash flow, intercompany transactions and foreign exchange processes, working closely with other departments to maintain financial stability. Their responsibilities include monitoring payments, optimising cash management and ensuring accurate financial reporting. By upholding strong internal controls and efficient financial processes, they safeguard Sappi’s financial health.
Accounts Payable team
The Accounts Payable team ensures supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time. They manage the entire AP process – from invoice verification to payment – working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues. A typical day includes reviewing invoices, securing correct approvals and addressing supplier inquiries. They leverage automation and reporting tools to improve efficiency. With a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement, the AP team helps maintain seamless financial operations and strong supplier relationships.
Order-to-Cash & Credit Risk team
This team plays a vital role in managing financial risk and overseeing customer receivables. They assess customer financial information to support sales teams in evaluating creditworthiness, ensuring a healthy cash flow and minimising financial exposure. Their tasks include monitoring and controlling accounts receivable, collaborating with sales on customer relationships and resolving payment or overdue balance issues. Additionally, they provide guidance on credit limits and payment terms while identifying potential risks, implementing best practices and strengthening Sappi’s overall financial strategy.
Tax Operations team
The Tax Operations team ensures full compliance with tax regulations, managing VAT and transfer pricing (TP) documentation and related activities. They deliver accurate, timely results for all Sappi companies within scope. The team actively monitors legal and fiscal requirements, working with the process owner and Tax Director to update processes accordingly. They also represent Sappi in communications with external tax authorities, submit VAT returns, reconcile tax accounts and manage spot-checking procedures. Their proactive approach ensures compliance with evolving fiscal regulations.
Logistics Operations team
This team is responsible for managing the flow of products from and to Sappi's facilities. They ensure that products are delivered to Sappi customers efficiently and on time. Their work is characterised by collaboration, creativity and flexibility. They work together to analyse and assess logistics challenges, identify potential solutions and implement them quickly and efficiently. Besides managing continental transport – they handle logistics complaints, planning the containers and OVS deliveries and preparing the OVS documentation.
Operational Procurement
The members of this team are responsible for sourcing spare parts and external repairs for all European mills, aiming to maximise commercial savings and efficiencies. Their tasks include negotiating contracts, setting up catalogues to increase automation and achieving savings through cost avoidance and continuous improvement. Vendor management is a priority, ensuring strong relationships with preferred suppliers, identifying new vendors that add value and eliminating underperforming suppliers. The team ensures on-time delivery of materials, negotiates favourable terms and contributes to cost optimisation efforts.
Process and Systems Support team
The task of PSST is to ensure seamless logistics, efficient systems and exceptional customer service. The team manages order booking, transport routes and logistics master data while supporting SAP TM implementation across European sites. They also oversee stock management, ensuring accuracy across 33 warehouses. PSST handles Salesforce CRM and e-commerce, optimising sales, marketing and digital ordering. They manage authorisations, sanction screenings and MICS error resolution for compliance. Additionally, they create product labels and configure master data in SAP. PSST is the backbone of smooth operations, driving efficiency and continuous improvement at Sappi.
Optimised Buying Systems team
This team is responsible for the effective use of SAP across the organisation through advising users on how to best leverage the system for their particular needs. They play a crucial role in driving process optimisation and efficiency through strategic system enhancements and user support. Their daily tasks include creating comprehensive manuals and building a knowledge base to guide users, as well as testing new system functionalities to ensure they meet business requirements. They collaborate closely with IT to develop system improvements and translate business needs into technical solutions. By proactively monitoring process performance and proposing improvements, the OBST generates valuable insights into continuously bettring the organisation’s buying processes, so supporting Sappi’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
RPA & Digital Transformation team
The RPA & Digital Transformation team drives automation and innovation across Sappi, enhancing efficiency and optimising business processes. Their work begins with analysing and identifying processes suitable for automation, with the aim of streamlining operations and reducing manual effort.
The team designs and develops automation solutions, configuring software bots to handle repetitive tasks such as data entry and transaction processing. They ensure the reliability of these solutions through rigorous testing and real-time performance monitoring in a live production environment. Once such solutions have been deployed, the team continuously tracks bot performance, making refinements to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
By leveraging automation, the team not only improves operational efficiency but also supports Sappi’s broader digital transformation strategy – enhancing agility, reducing costs and enabling employees to focus on higher-value activities. Their work helps Sappi stay competitive in an evolving digital landscape.
The IT department at Sappi Cracow CoPE may not be the largest, but it plays a pivotal role in the smooth running of all other departments.
IT Service Desk is the frontline support team that ensures uninterrupted operations by swiftly addressing technical issues and providing top-notch assistance. From software troubleshooting to hardware setups, this team guarantees seamless day-to-day functioning for all employees, maintaining user satisfaction and productivity.
Our team of SAP experts specialises in designing, developing and optimising the SAP ecosystem. They create customised solutions that align with our business processes, enhancing efficiency and driving innovation. With a deep understanding of SAP modules and technologies, they collaborate closely with various departments to tailor SAP applications, enabling streamlined operations, good data management and insightful analytics.
Our Windows Infrastructure Service engineers are responsible for maintaining and managing our organization's Windows-based technology infrastructure. They ensure the reliability, security and scalability of our systems by deploying updates, monitoring performance and proactively addressing any potential issues. This team's expertise extends to managing servers, networks and associated technologies, so contributing to a stable and secure IT environment that supports our business operations effectively.

Administration Team is dedicated to creating the best possible working environment for everyone working at and visiting our Sappi Cracow CoPE office. While often associated with managing documents and deliveries, their work goes much further in ensuring the smooth operation of the office. Their main tasks include organising the office space for maximum efficiency and safety, streamlining administrative procedures and maintaining effective office communication through newsletters. They also handle inventory control, manage office supplies and introduce fun initiatives to keep the workplace enjoyable – such as organising board game meetings, chocolate Fridays and updating the chill room. The Administration Team brings energy, creativity and professionalism to every task, supporting the entire office with both routine administrative duties and activities that contribute to a positive, dynamic workplace culture.
Last but not least, we handle Audit and Intellectual Property processes for Sappi group and, of course, all HR processes for Sappi Cracow CoPE.
Our internship programme provide students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in a corporate environment while balancing their academic commitments. The programme includes:
- Paid internship under a contract of mandate
