Art with Heart is on a mission to help children overcome trauma through creative expression in the form of therapeutic books and programs.
Because children usually can’t articulate their feelings and perceptions about death and loss, creativity is a natural language for them to express the inexpressible.
Art with Heart’s "Draw It Out” book supports kids who are affected by overwhelming feelings of grief. Sappi’s Ideas that Matter grant funds the creation of Classroom Kits and grief outreach program that will teach school counselors and teachers how to use creativity to help children express their feelings after a significant loss or community tragedy. Art with Heart’s goal for this program is to provide children with tools for emotional recovery using a nationally replicable model.
