Brussels, 23 October 2012
The sun came out to greet the 15 teams competing in Sappi fine Paper Europe's Royal Challenge Bike Race on Saturday 13th October. The 4 members of Benelux’s Team Roto (Rotosmeets) demonstrated true endurance skills, and team work, by claiming victory in the 70km time trial. Held around Sappi’s Nijmegen paper mill in Holland, the event marked the launch of a new range of product brochures for Sappi Royal Roto, Sappi Royal Press 400 and Sappi Royal Xpress, some of Sappi’s best known products used for leading magazines, catalogues, inserts, flyers and commercial print.
Ian Brune, Managing Director, Sappi Benelux said, “What a great event! The 15 teams who participated, made up of clients, customers and Sappi employees really gave it their all over the 70km circuit. The post event award ceremony and BBQ gave us the opportunity to engage and connect with those who matter. We were very honoured to host former world champion Marc Wauters(BE) to present the prizes which included 10 tonnes of Royal paper as first prize!”
Prizes were also awarded to Roularta Sprinting (Roularta Printing – Benelux) in second place, and Berger Bike (Druckerei Ferdinand Berger – Austria) in third place. The winner of the hand crafted carbon framed bike was Bart Blanckaert from Roularta Printing.
