When it comes to choosing the right paper for their next print publication, today’s print customers are under more than just economic pressures – they’re also under pressure from consumers and end-users to demonstrate the sustainability of what they’re being sent or sold.
Surveys consistently reveal how consumers want to feel good about the sustainability of what they buy. And that means feeling good about the sustainability stories of the brands they buy from.
Today, Magno Web has a whole new sustainability story to pass on – and for Magno customers to share. Because production of Sappi’s best-in-class Magno Web papers is now established at one of the most sustainable paper mills in Europe – our renowned Kirkniemi mill in Finland.
That translates to nothing less than a 58% reduction in the carbon footprint of Magno Web papers that were previously produced elsewhere.
At Kirkniemi today, thanks to major investments in state-of-the-art facilities and machinery, paper production is predominantly powered by renewable biomass energy – such as locally sourced wood chips and bark. This has resulted in a massive 90% cut in the mill’s previous direct emissions (known as Scope 1 emissions).
That’s not all. By purchasing renewable electricity, the mill has also eliminated its Scope 2 emissions – those associated with energy purchased from outside sources.
All that Sappi investment adds up to a significant reduction in Magno Web’s carbon footprint – and the opportunity for printers and their customers to cut their own carbon footprint with every print run.
That means a whole new sustainability story is ready and waiting be told – just by specifying Magno Web.
Contact your local sales manager for more information about how Magno Web can cut the carbon footprint of you and your customers every time you press ‘print’.
