Job Title: Sales Managers
Job Location: Sappi North America, Inc. 255 State Street, Floor 4, Boston, MA, 02109
Travel: 50% domestic travel per year required. No more than 5% international travel required per year.
Telecommuting: Telecommuting is available, but the individual must reside in the Boston area as at least two days of in-office presence per week are required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular customer visits to assess how specific products, with a focus on technical specialty papers such as grease-resistant papers and C1S (coated one side ) products, can meet their needs and promote product offerings.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients by answering questions about products, prices, availability or credit terms.
- Provide ongoing customer technical support related to technical specialty papers.
- Identify prospective customers within targeted segments to expand market share.
- Attend trade meetings to stay informed about market conditions.
- Present and emphasize product features, based on analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities.
- Develop sales campaigns to penetrate new markets and meet sales expectations.
- Consult with internal teams to resolve technical problems with products and deliver tailored solutions.
- Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and service agreements to maximize profitability.
- Monitor industry trends and participate in ongoing training to maintain a high level of product and market expertise.
Requirements & Qualifications:
The employer requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of work experience managing complex sales cycles, high-value customer relationships and strategic account planning.
Alternatively, the employer will accept two (2) years of work experience in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field. In addition, the candidate must have eight (8) years of work experience managing complex sales cycles, high-value customer relationships and strategic account planning. The candidate must also have the following:
- Demonstrated ability identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business opportunities, including market segmentation, prospecting, and competitive analysis gained through at least five (5) years of work experience.
- Demonstrated ability selling to packaging converters or other industrial manufacturers, with knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market dynamics gained through at least five (5) years of work experience.
- Demonstrated ability interpreting market data, customer needs, and competitive positioning to develop effective sales strategies gained through at least five (5) years of work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of specialty papers (e.g., grease-resistant, C1S) or related technical products, including product features, manufacturing processes, and customer applications gained through at least five (5) years of work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools for accurate forecasting and pipeline management gained through at least three (3) years of work experience.
All years of experience may be gained concurrently

Salary: One hundred sixty-five thousand and twenty dollars per year to one hundred ninety-five thousand and twenty dollars per year.
