Sappi Europe reports a fire at its Alfeld Mill production site in Germany

In the early evening on the 12th of May Sappi Europe’s Alfeld Mill site, situated in Germany, reported a fire around the area of its paper machine 3. There have been no recorded casualties and an evaluation by official experts is underway to assess the cause of the fire and the resulting damage to the paper machine.

Sappi can confirm that all other paper machines at the site are fully operational and sales staff will be directly in contact with their customers to keep them updated with any impact caused by this incident.
