Housing Works is dedicated to ending the dual crises of HIV/AIDS and homelessness in New York City. People living with HIV/AIDS are extremely vulnerable to homelessness due to discrimination, loss of income, the breakup of relationships and other factors.
At any given time, up to 16% of all persons with HIV are homeless. Housing Works has set a goal of reaching a total of 500 housing units in New York by 2016. To fund this effort, Housing Works operates 12 high-end thrift shops in the city. The design and distribution of a broadsheet, featuring a collection of photographs, client stories and pertinent information will give Housing Works a means to turn shoppers into 20 advocates for this cause.
