The German team beats stiff competition to win Sappi Cup
You have to be in it to win it, and the increasing popularity of the annual Sappi Cup Table Football Tournament means that more and more competitors want to be in with a chance of competing and winning. The tournament is for Sappi customers, printers and publishers. 16 qualifying teams travelled to Brussels for the final on 04 April 2013.
This year, the victors are Heinz and Markus from Hoffmann Druck & Verlags GmbH & Co. KG. The two runner up teams who also share in the prizes are Antonín and Vojtěch from Severotisk s.r.o. and Christoph and Martin from Red Bulletin.
The competition was first organized in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where Sappi Headquarters are located. “Nobody quite expected the success of the initiative, yet here we are 4 years later with an ever increasing demand from printers and publishers to be involved. We see the Sappi Cup as a truly unique opportunity for friendly competition, social interaction and dialogue with Sappi customers throughout Europe,” said Marco Eikelenboom, Director Marketing & Sales, Sappi Fine Paper Europe.
There has been quite a build up to this final with qualifying rounds organized by Sappi sales offices kicking off in February. The winning 16 teams, each composed of 2 Sappi customers (printers / publishers) then made their way to Brussels to compete in the Cup Final on 04 April 2013.
In keeping with tradition, the prizes consist of tickets for a major football competition, in this case, the UEFA Champions League Final which will take place at Wembley Stadium in London on 25 May 2013! The three winning teams and 2 lucky randomly selected individuals will share the experience.
