Optimising our transport to reduce Co2 emissions - Wesel Logistics Center

Yes, I care.

Because fossil fuel is a limited resource and responsible for carbon emissions. We still need it, but there is no reason to squander it.

I implemented this ‘intermodal transport’ method at our Wesel distribution center. A truck picks up a shipment from our mills and brings it to the nearest rail port. There, the entire trailer is loaded onto a train and is then picked up at the destination by another truck to complete the last leg of the journey. The result? A projected reduction of 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions for orders in Italy and Spain alone, less traffic and less road congestions.

I make Sappi eco-effective. How about you?
