Sappi Europe welcomed this year’s 13 qualifying teams to Munich, Germany to compete for the Sappi Cup Table Football Tournament title on 21st April 2016. 28 players from an original pool of 148 teams made the trip, representing Austria, CEE - Slovakia and Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the UK.
The prize is well worth competing for; the three winning teams (Team 1, 2 and 3) win tickets to the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final in Milan on 28 May 2016. The tournament is for Sappi customers, printers and publishers and attracts increasing numbers of participants every year.
The winners of this year’s Sappi Cup are as follows:
1st – Artes Gráficas Palermo, Spain
2nd - Druckerei Hertl, Germany
3rd - Aumüller Druck, Germany
Sophie de Guignard who is responsible for events, attended the final and was delighted with the result. “Expectations were high following last year’s tournament – but we were not disappointed! Closely supervised by qualified referees, the finals were full of excitement with Spain succeeding in breaking Germany’s winning run over the last few years. The presence of an enthusiastic crowd added to the atmosphere. The tournament continues to be a success combining networking, teambuilding and competitive spirit. Congratulations to the winning teams!”
