The German firm said flavour preservation, seal strength, tactility and user-friendliness along with excellent recycling properties were essential requirements in the choice of packaging material for the new Tree of Tea brand, teabag envelopes.

Tobias Reiner, product manager for Tree of Tea at Mymuesli, said: “We didn’t want to accept any compromise with the teabag envelopes, and that’s why we looked for a holistic and sustainable paper-based packaging solution. In developing the teabag envelopes, we placed a very high value on product safety and premium quality.  We also wanted to provide a tactile and optical experience for the consumer..”

The Sappi Leine Guard M barrier paper ensures that its teabag envelopes contribute to a holistic tea experience with both optical and tactile impact.

The company believes the natural character of an organic leaf tea should be reflected in the teabag envelopes; and at the same time, the distinctive Tree of Tea brand image with its many subtle colours must be printed using the latest technology to achieve the best results.
