Following Glen Pearce’s promotion to the post of Group Chief Financial Officer Sappi Ltd, Sappi Europe SA is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Blyth to the post of Chief Financial Officer of Sappi Europe SA starting 1 July 2014.
Stephen Blyth joined Sappi in September 2005 as Senior Tax Manager for Sappi Southern Africa. He had previously spent nine years with KPMG in Johannesburg and London. He became Group Financial Manager in August 2007 and joined Sappi International in Brussels as Deputy Group Treasurer in January 2010.
Stephen Blyth holds a bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Commenting on the announcement, Sappi Europe Chief Executive Officer, Berry Wiersum, said: “During his time at Group Treasury Stephen was a key contributor to many of the work streams and was responsible for implementing funding and financing transactions. His attention to detail and methodical work ethic will stand him in good stead in his new position."
