What our trainees say about the programme

Laura Falceto-Vinolas from Spain:“Working in a multicultural environment has always been one of my main ambitions. After my experience at an academic level, Sappi became the perfect choice to jump gradually into the professional manufacturing world. I had the opportunity to learn widely, from a general overview of the business to the specific art of pulp and paper making, and I was able to prove my abilities by facing new challenges and getting ownership for my projects.”

Sergio Porcelli from Italy: “I was given responsibility and freedom of action that are rare to find in traineeships. The time spent here was tailored to my and fellow trainees' needs, both in workshops and support from the coaches. Changing workplace yearly is challenging, but you get to experience so many ways and cultures that it's worth it. It really gives you a more complex view of the company, the industry and yourself. My experience in Sappi Manufacturing Trainee program has exceeded my expectation.

Annukka Hirsi from Finland: “It is now time to start my second assignment as a Sappi manufacturing trainee. First year was giving me a great picture about how Sappi works as a company. After the assignment in Stockstadt Mill I have a good basic knowledge about pulp mill operations and really interesting insight in latest measurement technologies of screening quality. Now it is time to widen my knowledge also to the side of paper production in Ehingen Mill!

Giorgio Comandé from Italy: “After studying and my experience in a multicultural company, I was looking for a formative and international experience to give me the chance to learn from different departments and from people from worldwide. At Sappi, I found the possibility to challenge myself and the chance to show my abilities thanks to the responsibility that they gave me.”

Lukas Rebernig from Austria: “At Sappi, I received the opportunity to start applying my knowledge and skills from the start and work in a fully motivated team that is striving for sound solutions to master future challenges. “
