Pelletising, Briquetting and Granulation

The manufacture of coal briquettes and egg coal is one of the oldest applications for lignin bonding agents.

Today lignin is used in large amounts for the pelletising of fertilisers, as well as for that of metal ores. The use of the appropriate additives allows the pressing force on the pelletising machines to be reduced. The reduced mechanical effort results in corresponding energy savings. Lignin is a reliable bonding agent in the manufacture of mineral fertilisers. They have proven valuable in the pelletising and granulation of phosphate fertilisers as well as in general for fertilisers with a stone dust base.

Their high adhesive strength ensures that the fertiliser grains will feature good binding and low abrasion resistance as well as good release of the components when exposed to weather conditions. The latter is ensured by the excellent water solubility of lignin.

Lignin is a major component of wood and is one of the most abundant natural organic wood polymers which provides a multitude of functionalities.

Our lignin is used in a variety of industrial and agricultural areas for various applications.
