Our recruitment process
We're always looking out for potential recruits to join our talented team. Read about our process so that you can be prepared if you choose to apply.

Terms and conditions

Our learnerships are regulated by a formal contract (learnership agreement) between an employer, a learner and a training provider.

An employer can enter into learnership agreements with existing employees or with learners who are not employees. If the employer enters into a learnership agreement with a learner who is not an employee the employer is not obliged to employ the learner when the learnership ends.

Learnerships are governed by the Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998), and are line with the policies and procedures of the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).

Our Engineer in Training (EIT) programme ensures the next generation of talent is fully equipped with the knowledge they need.
We offer a variety of technical programmes to choose from. Discover the options available to you and what the courses involve.
Our Forester in Training programme means you can learn from our onsite experts and train for a recognised qualification at the same time.

Meet just some of the many trainees who have benefited from Sappi's development programmes, from engineering to forestry.

If you're a talented student or undergraduate studying in a relevant field, you could be eligible for support from our bursary scheme.
