Lignins are a reliable bonding agent in the manufacture of mineral fertilisers.
Lignin has proven valuable in the pelletising and granulation of phosphate fertilisers as well as in general fertilisers with a stone dust base.
The high adhesive strength of lignin ensures that the fertiliser grains will feature good binding and low abrasion resistance as well as good release of the components when exposed to weather conditions. The latter is ensured by the excellent water solubility of lignin.
