Reflecting one of the key characteristics of Sappi Fine Paper Europe’s Royal range of paper – ENDURANCE – Sappi is hosting the first ever competitive bike race for clients, customers and Sappi employees through the countryside, surrounding its Nijmegen paper mill, on 13th October 2012 . This team event will kick off celebrations for the launch of new Sappi | Royal publication paper range brochures
Marco Eikelenboom, Director Marketing and Sales, Sappi Fine Paper Europe said,“We’re very excited by this event. It’s another reflection of Sappi’s determination to get closer to its customers to be able to better understand and respond to their needs. Sport is a great and enjoyable way to engage and connect with people, as we have seen through our Sappi Cup table football tournament.”
The Royal Challenge race (http://www.sappiroyalchallenge.com/) will be a combined team time trial over a distance of 70 kilometres through the Nijmegen countryside, including a special route around Sappi's Nijmegen paper mill. Every racer's bike will be fitted with a professional timing device, and the team with the best average time will win. Former world champion Marc Wauters from Belgium will present the prizes which include as first prize, 10 tonnes of Sappi|Royal paper.
With a track record of over 30 years, Sappi’s Royal range heatset web offset printing paper is one of its best known products and is used for leading magazines, catalogues, inserts, flyers and commercial print. The new product brochures will be available from Sappi sales offices throughout Europe.
