​ Ideas that Matter - Abuse is Abuse ​
​
Sappi, Childline and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) have united against the incidence of abuse of persons, animals and the environment. Early in 2010, they embarked on a ground-breaking national campaign that highlights the fact that 'abuse is abuse' - no matter whom or what it is directed at.

These three organisations believe the time has come for all South Africans to become strong guardians of the environment and the vulnerable in society.

Past projects
SOS Children’s Villages
 
 
SOS is an international organisation, which provides permanent care to children, who are homeless or have lost their parents, in small family-type groups. Sappi has supported houses in Nelspruit, Port Elizabeth and Pietermaritzburg.
 
Since 2000 Sappi has sponsored approximately R1.47 million and the R70,000 donated in 2010 is planned to be matched in 2011. We currently only focus on the Port Elizabeth House through Adamas Mill.
SANTA (Tuberculosis)
Sappi assisted SANTA Johannesburg by allowing them to have their monthly meetings in one of Sappi’s board rooms and their AGM in the Sappi auditorium.
 
Sappi also donated R60,000 to their organisation in 2007.
