We care and we like to share!

As a paper producing company, Sappi is active in one of the world's truly sustainable industries. We have taken advantage of this to develop a sustainability policy that is more than 'talking green'. It is about people, planet and prosperity. It is at the heart of everything we do and it is present in every step of the paper trail. On many places where Sappi has activities, we set up projects to enhance the lives of the local population and to improve the environment.

People
  • Adding to the wellbeing, safety and health of employees and communities.
Planet
  • Contributing to a world of biodiversity, renewable energy and environmental care.
Prosperity
  • Aiming long-term profitability and customer satisfaction through innovation and ethical product.

Paper has sustainability written all over it, but how do you know the paper you use comes from a sustainable forest source?

Blowing your own trumpet is easy. Without the control of a third-party, you can say pretty much what you like. That's why Sappi is proud to put the logos of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) on its products. They are official and independent certification schemes that ensure paper comes from sustainable forest sources and controlled sources. The same is true for EMAS which recognises organisations that go beyond minimal legal compliance, continuously improve their environmental performance and are fully transparent in their actions. We proudly wear the PEFC, FSC and EMAS logos and consider them the highest marks of distinction. That’s Sappi positivity: because we care.
